The Microcar M.Go 1 was the first generation of the M.Go series, produced by Microcar (a Ligier subsidiary) from 2008 to 2014. It was a key model in the manufacturer's lineup, replacing the earlier MC series.
Key features
Production run: 2008 to 2014.
Engine: The M.Go 1 was offered with various small diesel engines, such as the Lombardini Progress or Yanmar engine. In 2010, the optional DCI engine was introduced.
Design: It had a front-engine, front-wheel-drive, two-seat, three-door hatchback body style. A key feature of the M.Go was its spacious interior and modular storage, including a fold-down passenger seat.
Performance: Like most microcars, its top speed was limited to 45 km/h (28 mph) to comply with European regulations.
Facelift: In 2010, the M.Go received a restyling, which included a more modern dashboard and updated front-end styling. This version was sometimes referred to as the M.Go II.
Successor: The M.Go 1 was replaced in 2015 by the M.Go 3, which adopted a more low-cost approach.
